I am a retired Police Detective with over 25 years service in the investigation into child abuse. I was threatened and bullied out of my job for exposing the high-level cover-up of child prostitution. For the past eight years, I have been working with anti-child abuse campaigner Bill Maloney in raising awareness of the true extent of the scale of this heinous crime. I, now with other whistleblowing cops as well as victims and survivors of abuse, am campaigning for a change in the Law to give brave whistleblowers the protection they truly deserve. In the words of Edmund Burke: “All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.”
I’m organising a charity fund raiser for – Ley Community rehab centre & Swindon lock activity centre (helps under privileged kids and child abuse victims in Rotherham )
I will be cycling to Cornwall and then swimming around the Isles of Scilly .
I’ve had a powerful and enriching day. I met with a good friend Chris Lambrianou who gained notoriety decades ago for being part of the so called Kray Twins Firm. Chris dedicated his time helping reform ex cons and supporting recovering drug/alcohol addicts most of which are from abused childhood back grounds.
Chris and myself spoke candidly about our paths crossing and the work we are doing together to support the Ley Community (rehab centre) . It was a unique interview of a former gangster and ex Scotland Yard detective working together to help victims and survivors of abuse and was superbly put together, orchestrated and filmed by an up and coming film maker Nellie Koenig-Hughes . Hopefully the short film will be released sometime in May .
I also presented the Ley Community with a cheque for money I raised .
Her name is Nellie . She organised the interview with Chris and myself and it was her idea. She is just starting out and would welcome any photography/ film work. She was brilliant and Chris loved her.
